Why are GPs needing to work differently?

We have been open and seeing patients face to face (when clinically required) throughout the pandemic. We have had to adapt to keep patients and staff safe through the ongoing pandemic. We have continued to provide General Practice services while also vaccinating tens of thousands of patients. This graphic explains some of the issues we have faced as we continue to try and keep as safe as possible, while providing the best care that we can. Thank you for your continued support!

Fed up of Waiting on Hold?

Instead of calling the practice you can now fill in an Online Consultation form using eConsult (Monday – Friday between, 08:00 & 18:30 or go to Patient Access). The questions you will be asked mirror those of a consultation with your GP. Once we have received your Online Consultation, the doctors will look at your form and get back to you by the end of the next working day. It is likely the doctor will be able to help you via a phone call, text or video consultation and they can arrange a face to face appointment if required. All appointments with a GP will be by telephone first but you will be offered a video assessment/ face to face assessment when clinically necessary.

Online services allow you to:

  • book, check or cancel appointments with a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional
  • order repeat prescriptions
  • see parts of your health record, including information about medicines, vaccinations and test results
  • see communications between your GP surgery and other services, such as hospitals
