This year we are seeking to expand the number of patients who are actively involved in shaping the future of the Attenborough Surgery, in the ever changing NHS.
We want as many of you as possible to join our new Patient Representative Group.
Once set up, the group will initially examine its priorities for the surgery. This means that you will be able to express your views on what you want us to be doing, as a practice, in the future.
These priorities will help structure the formation of a survey which will be open to all practice patients. If you want to join the patient participation group please add yourself as a follower to our blog.
We really value the time and support that you are willing to give to the development of the practice and we hope to do much of the work of the patient representative group online to reduce your time commitment.
Who we are...
The Attenborough Surgery Patient Group is the patient participation group at the Attenborough Surgery.
A patient participation group is like a school parent teacher association. It belongs to one surgery and takes an interest in the general health and wellbeing of the patients registered with that Practice.
The Attenborough Surgery Patient Group works with the Practice for the mutual benefit of both patients and Practice. It's a self-funded group made up of patients from the Surgery and everyone is welcome to be a part of it.
What we do...
Health
Over the last four years we have run several health promotion events. Topics have included coronary heart disease, diabetes, child health, asthma and allergies, mental health, bowel cancer, an event for carers and an health fayre.
Patients who have attended have found these events to be a valuable source of information and advice.
Details of the events are listed below.
Social
We have also held three quiz nights in order to raise funds to run the health information events. Funds are also being used to purchase books for the new patient library.
